From the back roads of Albemarle County headed towards Crozet, VA

One of the things I enjoy about photography, sporadic hop in the Landi trips to the country. unplanned, late at night, others during/after storms, or at key lighting hours. The moments when everything lines up, you pull over immediately, make adjust…

As a photographer, my only goal? capturing split-second moments with the click of a shutter. The surrounding counties offer endless backroads full of beautiful views if you are in the right place at the right time.

The rich colors in the entire image came thanks to a quick passing storm. As it moved on, in the far right the rain continued falling in the distance. Just above the barn, the steam rose from the hill almost as if it were replenishing the storm as it moved along. Making sure to provide credit to my wife, she spotted this and told me to turn around. I am glad I did as the view was magnificent. Had I taken a min longer, this would have been an entirely different dull image.

My tip: Always find a safe place, stop and get the shot, you may never get a second chance to photograph it.
